Position SummaryThe NYU High Performance Computing team is seeking an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technical Lead to build state-of-the-art computing infrastructure in-house and in the cloud, and an ecosystem with AI and machine learning solutions, to support all NYU scholars who utilize AI technologies in research projects and teaching. This position will be involved in scoping, architecting, designing, building, and supporting the computing, and analytical infrastructure to deliver AI solutions (ex. image processing, predictive analytics, expert systems) in order to enhance the HPC team's AI offerings, improve service, help build partnerships, and add capacity and capabilities. The Artificial Intelligence Technical Lead will work closely with NYU researchers and instructors as well as NYU IT teams to provide ongoing testing, benchmarking, support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of AI computing resources and software. This position will develop training material, conduct hands-on training sessions, in-person consultations, and provide online documentation to assist NYU scholars and their collaborators to efficiently utilize AI technologies in their research and teaching. Qualifications Required Education:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or related field. Preferred Education:Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Experience:3+ years working with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Natural Language Processing open source libraries such as TensorFlow, pytorch, Caffe, Theano, etc. Programming experience in C++, Python and Java. Experience with High Performance computing infrastructure workflows, resource managers, usage and systems' health monitoring, and data transfer tools. Working experience with Big Data and knowledge of big data infrastructure. Preferred Experience:5+ years of work experience, having a record of successes in architecting, deploying and using Artificial Intelligence solutions. Experience working in an academic research environment. Experience with GPU programming in an HPC environment. Experience with managing structured and unstructured data. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent math and programming skills. Proven expertise with the Linux OS and bash scripting. Knowledge of AI offerings of public cloud providers (such as AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with design, building and deploying containers (Docker, Singularity) in an HPC environment. Drive to continually expand knowledge in the areas of new technological developments and trends. Ability to present technical concepts in a clear manner to customers through demos, proposals and presentations. Experience with computational support for academic research. Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation and written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and customer support. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Having a quantitative background (probability, statistics). Desire and ability to write blog or white paper content on relevant technical subjects.
