THE ROLE

Architects at Simon are adept in integrating the business challenge, the technology, and the team and are responsible simultaneously for maintaining the high-level context and the low-level execution that makes our product great.

As an architect at Simon, you will work across sprint teams to provide technical guidance, build out significant areas of the product, participate in Simon's sprint management group, and report directly to the CTO. You'll set the bar for senior engineering and push the business forward from a technology perspective.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Conduct architecture reviews, game days, user acceptance tests, and ops reviews
* Be an exemplar for software engineering at Simon
* Develop, refine, and socialize best practices in engineering
* Research, adopt, and implement new infrastructure
* Contribute to strategic business decisions and research
* Coordinate technical aspects of cross-team product launches
* Proactively identify system risks and communicate them to the engineering team / senior management
* Provide insight and strong opinions on how to prioritize technical debt
* Mentor our less senior staff and help them raise the bar technically and professionally

QUALIFICATIONS

* At least 15 years of experience in the field
* Hands-on implementation lead for multiple large-scale infrastructure projects and/or distributed systems
* Demonstrated history of execution and delivery
* Ability to present technical material to a diverse set of audiences
* Superior communication skills and experience leading teams of engineers and representing them to the business
