The Enterprise Information Services (EIS) team at Cedars-Sinai understands that true clinical transformation and the optimization of a clinical information systems implementation is fueled through the alignment of the right people, processes and technologies.

Right now our Systems Integration team is looking for a full time Applications System Engineer to join them!

This is a great learning and growth opportunity for a technical systems admin / Application engineer. The Systems Integration team is high functioning, self motivated, and operational optimization focused. In this role you will get plenty of opportunity to develop solutions that streamline both internal and customer workflows!

What will I be doing?

Develop custom code on applications supported to enhance or adapt software applications to meet customers needs. Installs, optimizes, patches and maintains more complex applications to ensure that these applications perform at their highest levels.

* Works closely with OS teams, Developers, and Vendors to achieve these goals.
* This position requires advanced knowledge in a variety of operating systems, scripting languages, network architecture, APIs and application environment basics.
* Functions as a technical resource for OS and Development teams.
* his position requires participation in a 24X7 on-call rotation.
* This position mentors and guides lower-level staff members on more complex issues.

Education required: Bachelors degree in CS or related engineering field

Experience required:

5 years practical, relevant IT experience in a complex, multiplatform environment.

Skills we're looking for:

* Expert working and conceptual knowledge of UNIX, Microsoft, and LINUX server operating systems, along with scripting tools, utility software, and high availability software on these platforms.
* Expertise with administration and configuration of various application platforms and servers.
* In-depth knowledge of system and application architectures such as client-server and n-tier and typical application-system dependencies and APIs.
* Familiar with TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, WINS, Active Directory, and related network protocols and services.
* Ability to quickly adapt to new applications, managing the interaction between the application and the OS to ensure optimal performance.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to deal effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities, works effectively as a team player.
* Creative and organized with a proven ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and uses time effectively.
* Executes all job responsibilities and assignments promptly, reliably, honestly, and ethically.
