Position Title: Application Architect

Location: 4601 DTC Boulevard, Suite 200, Denver, CO 80237

Days/Hours: Mon - Fri / 8am - 5pm

Summary of Duties:

Develop, enhance, and implement the organization's Java-based software application for insurance solutions. Design business components for insurance domain needs based on the comprehensive enterprise platform, working with and guiding distributed development teams offshore in the development and deployment of business components into a comprehensive enterprise software application. As a part of the Base Software Engineering team, lead the development and establishment of pragmatic, quality oriented software engineering best practices across a large number of geographically distributed development teams. Collaborate with a team of IT professionals in designing and developing Business Applications using Enterprise Java Architecture Frameworks. Design and document business components based on established architectural patterns for developed Java/J2EE components, frameworks, and libraries. Consult with architecture teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and practices. Design and implement the strategy of team deliverables. Produce high output, high efficiency delivery of work items from inception through acceptance. Understand and disseminate product architecture and domain for the team, enabling efficient quality code delivery. Understand and disseminate development standards and patterns to team developers. Collaborate with Product Owners/Business Analysts and Testers and to ensure efficient, quality deliveries. Perform design and code reviews.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or Programmer Analyst, System Analyst, Software Engineer, or related role. Applicants must have demonstrated experience with each of the following: developing object-oriented applications in a Java environment; designing and developing enterprise applications using Java technologies and Software Design Patterns; leading multiple software development engineers by providing direction and resolving technical issues; Open Source frameworks and tools including Spring, Hibernate, Junit, Eclipse, and Maven; JBoss Application Server; IBM WebSphere Application Server; and SQL and RDBMS products including Oracle, DB2, and SQL Server.
