We at Perspecta are currently seeking an Application and Database Specialist in Washington, DC supporting our government customer - Public Trust
The Application and Database Specialist responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Utilizing one or in combination with the following Microsoft Azure tools: System Center Configuration Manger (SCCM), Service Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and Operations Management Suite (OMS).
* Support Windows and Linux based environments for GOT, COTS, custom and mobile applications across development, testing and production for, physical, hybrid and cloud based solutions.
* Assure Service level, Application, database and network performance troubleshooting and restoration of application and database service levels.
* Supports Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL, Big Data (Drupal, Hadoop) and open databases products.
* Respond to Service Event and Alert Management of application and databases.
* Maintain and collect Environment performance metrics analysis and reporting.
* Use Dashboard Monitor and analysis of application and database log analytics and telemetry.
* Monitor database and application resource usage, and performance monitoring to avoid service disruption.
* Lead incident and problem monitoring, response and reporting via Remedy.
* Lead database and application environment engineering, hosting design, configuration.
* Perform change Log tracking and administration.
* Provide Tier II Help Desk support for service restoration.
* Provide Tier III vendor coordination for service restoration.
* Originate and maintain required technical documentation.
* Support continuous deployment with DevOPS tools, planning and agile processes and thinking.
* Support ISO 20000 and ITIL processes.
The Application and Database Specialist should also have experience in the following:
* Support ATS Administrative and change control procedures, ITIL and ISSO 2000
* Microsoft Azure and or AWS frameworks, including PowerShell, Microsoft OPS tools: System Center Configuration Manger (SCCM), Service Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and Operations Management Suite (OMS).
* Impacts and Responds to service requests, incidents, and request for change tickets. Analyze resolve and document resolution to tickets.
* Work closely with business users and IT specialists, as well as with outside vendors, to plan, deploy, and maintain applications, databases, and VMware.
* Work closely with project teams and customers to adhere to security policies and processes.
* Develop, update, and maintain technical and operational documentation.
* Develop and document O&M processes.
* Participate on project teams.
* Provide guidance and advice on improvements to environments, emerging technologies, and best practices.
* Plan, coordinate and execute O&M activities
* Support Monthly Application and database COOP drills
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Service Management, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
* 8+ years of relevant experience.
