Perficient currently has a career opportunity for a Apigee Technical Architect in our client office located in Denver, CO. Must be local or willing to relocate. No Remote.

Job Overview:

The Technical Architect provides technology direction, ensures project implementation compliance, and utilizes technology research to innovate, integrate, and manage technology solutions. As a Technology Architect, you will significantly contribute to identifying best-fit architectural solutions for one or more projects; you will collaborate with some of the best talent in the industry to create and implement innovative high quality solutions, participate in Sales and various pursuits focused on our clients' business needs. This role is considered part of the Business Unit Leadership team and may mentor Junior Architects and /or development team members.

Responsibilities

* Responsible for implementing part or all of the Apigee technical solution to the client, in accordance with an agreed technical design.
* Responsible for providing detailed technical designs for enterprise API solutions.
* Understands a broad spectrum of technology in order to provide part or all of a detailed technical design to meet customer requirements.
* May lead small technical projects. Liaises with solutions and enterprise architects
* Works under the direction of the Project/ Technical manager and with customer nominated representatives.
* Provides technical support and input on the application of technology to a defined business endeavor.
* Provides advice on solution and integration opportunities to defined endeavors.
* Provides technical leadership on specific integration activities that are part of an engagement.
* Provides planning and design support for the development of Apigee solution architectures
* Communicates with client community and is viewed as adding value
* Contributes to knowledge tools, communities, and ensures project learnings are documented and shared
* Works with project teams to understand and implement API Definitions using Apigee.
* Produces design specifications, works with the Project Manager /Scrum Master to create detailed technical task lists
* Understands and enforces Apigee and REST project standards and best practices
* Provides guidance for customers operations team to implement CI/CD automation requirements for SDLC infrastructure
* Builds and executes API functional and performance test plans

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering.
* At least 3 years of experience in technology consulting, enterprise and solutions architecture and architectural frameworks.
* At least 3 years of experience in Enterprise Integration, Middleware Solutions, and API Management in building solutions and architectural frameworks, and Middleware technologies and architectures including ESB and SOA
* At least 2 years of experience in API Development and Strategy
* Great communications/ writing skills and ability to interact effectively with project stakeholders
* Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge and experience, and has the ability to be individually responsible for the design and scope of Apigee API deliverables
* Has led a small team to on-time, in-budget delivery of a specific software deliverable.
* Has the ability to perform/drive resolutions of problems on combinations and interactions of products.
* Has the ability to apply technology and consulting to solve a client business problem.
* Must be open to travel.

Preferred Skills and Education:

* At least 3 years of, understanding of and ability to use at least one of these programming languages: Java, Javascript, Node.js,
* Strong working knowledge of at least one operating system and RDBMSs. Linux a plus++
* At least 2 years of hands on experience implementing Apigee products and APIM principles
* Strong working knowledge of networking protocols HTTP, TCP/IP, SOAP, REST
* Extensive project experience with designing and implementing APIs using Apigee Edge
* At least 1 years of experience in implementing API Security and Access Control (OAuth/SAML, Web SSO, TLS/SSL etc.)
* Knowledge of, and ability to communicate API best practices and performance tuning considerations
* Ability to generate custom API Analytics reports, and integration with external tools like Splunk
* Knowledge and understanding of, and ability to use, CI/CD build and deployment methodologies with Apigee across environments
* Experience in API Administration and user/developer management
* Strong knowledge of Apigee component architecture and implementation configurations
* Hands on experience setting up Apigee Edge environments and configuring various components
* Understands high availability, load balancing and failover configurations with Apigee, including underlying technologies Cassandra, Zookeeper, and Postgres.
* Good experience in supporting the Apigee environments and APIs across environments
* Knowledge of health check principles and monitoring procedures for Apigee components & APIs
* Ability to analyze Apigee logs to identify and resolve issues
