Our technology efficiently manages the real-time assignment of Runners to Favors, facilitates communication between customers, Runners, and support, keeps thousands of customer and Runner mobile applications in sync, and more.

As an Android Engineer you will be responsible for all phases of development, testing, and release of our Android Consumer and Runner apps. You will work closely with our product and operations teams to understand customer needs, build simple solutions to complex problems, and deliver delightful experiences to all our users.

Responsibilities:

* Write clean, performant, and tested application code
* Design, implement, test, and maintain new and existing features
* Explore new technologies and contribute to the refinement of engineering related tools, standards and training
* Participate in design and code reviews
* Mentor less experienced engineers
* Engage and collaborate with other teams to ensure timely solution delivery with high quality while balancing new feature work and tech debt management
* Partner with cross-functional technology teams to integrate solutions

Requirements:

* Degree in Computer Science or 2-4 years of similar experience with a strong understanding of software development concepts such as OO design, SOLID principles, refactoring, automated testing, and continuous delivery
* Self starter who can design and build technical solutions without direct oversight
* Strong understanding of Java/Kotlin and the Android SDK
* Released and supported at least one app in the Google Play Store
* Knowledge of coding patterns, best practices, and tools to write performant, maintainable, and testable code
* Understanding of debugging tools to trace and diagnose performance and functional issues
