What You Will Do:

The Agile Tools Coach is a technical change agent serving as a subject matter expert and champion to promote lean agile methods enabled by Transamerica's agile tools. Responsible for the adoption and ongoing administration of the enterprise agile planning tool platform. Advocate for continuous improvement within and across teams by educating and training the effective use of JIRA's toolsuite to plan and deliver strategically aligned outcomes. Identify opportunities to design and improve the agile platform to support the company's evolving methodology.

What You Will Learn:

You will be working with a dynamic and growing team within our Project Management Organization (PMO). You will be the trusted expert and will be teaching the team how to improve the tool while being a brand and tool advocate. You will be guiding the team during this digital age transformation.

What Success Looks Like:

* Provide process and tools training, coaching, and mentoring to new and established agile teams of varying size and maturity.
* Configure JIRA Align to reflect company strategic objectives, portfolios, programs, and team roles; work structure and planning enablers which compliment work management and process controls.
* Partner with stakeholders and fellow Agilists to develop and configure metrics, dashboards, and advanced filters to provide end-users and business leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and transparent progress reporting.
* Help teams improve their agile capabilities through use of tools across a diverse set of processes including intake, program management, backlog grooming, and increment, sprint and release planning. Work with a diverse set of stakeholders, including those assuming newer roles that will benefit from servant leadership and coaching.
* Work with teams to improve their ability to plan, build, and run services across an end-to-end value stream.
* Partner with JIRA administration function to ensure alignment and seamless integration across platforms.
* Coach Product Owners and Scrum Masters in methods for building and refining their product backlogs within the agile tooling platform.
* Partner with PMO practitioners and Portfolio Managers to promote shared visibility into delivery progress, alignment with strategy, dependencies, and risk management within our tools.
* Assess delivery team processes, practice maturity, and risks. Mentor team members regarding opportunities for improvement at a sustainable pace for the team and organization.
* Engage in Communities of Practice to contribute expertise and gather user feedback on methodology.
* Interface with business, technical, and architecture leaders to help them understand how effective use of tools and methods can accelerate desired outcomes.
* Contribute and refine content that describes tooling capabilities in context of company methodology for reference by practitioners.

What You Need:

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent education/experience
* Five years of experience in a project or team delivery role
* Two years of experience working with teams applying Scrum and/or Kanban practices
* Experience helping teams adopt lean-agile principles and practices
* Three years of experience and moderate to advanced knowledge in use and/or support of Atlassian's software platform
* Experience managing or coaching enterprise instances of JIRA/Confluence
* Knowledge of lean-agile techniques and frameworks including: XP, Kanban, Scrum and SAFe
* Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and training skills
* Servant leadership skills (e.g. facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, transparency)
* Experience as a member of multiple Scrum or agile project teams with a wide range of diversity (e.g. team size, organization, cultures, multiple locations)
* Track record of agile education: training, conferences, user groups, communities of practice, self-study
* Comfortable presenting content to teams and leadership.
