Who we're looking for

The Agile Coach will be on the leading edge of TFS' ABC Digital Transformation, helping drive the vision of transforming to Agile across the organization. The ABC Coach will coach and influence at all levels to assure the enterprise is successfully delivering business value. This role supports project teams by providing expert knowledge and coaching in Agile methods, developing and leading Quality Circles and championing innovation and process improvement.

The Agile Coach's overall accountability is for:

* Train and develop high-performing teams to ensure effective outcomes for the organization
* Guide and coach team members and leaders to embrace agile methods, mindset, and cultural shift
* Understand where the teams are in their TFS' Agile Digital Transformation journey and offer the right approach to support their growth

The Agile Coach is an expert in various Agile methodologies and frameworks and can articulate their usage with deep expertise, but also see them for what they are, tools and techniques to enable you to foster capability in an organization. The Agile Coach is a leader in and process improvement, coaching, conflict management, facilitation and mediation. The Agile Coach is also a system thinking and design thinking expert and can also articulate complexity theory. The Agile Coach interfaces with TFS leadership including up to CEO, business and Agile Digital Factory teams and supports domains and factories across all business divisions. The coaches will support TFS-US and global TFS group companies.

This role will have responsibilities in other TFS Digital Academy portfolios such as Bootcamp, Toyota Way, Design Thinking, etc.

Key responsibilities include:

* The Agile Coach will work directly with our team members, business stakeholders, business partners, and leaders to execute the adoption of the TFS Agile Methodology at the domain and factory level.
* Drive, implement, and improve the Agile Digital transformation strategy for TFS
* Monitor, measure, and report on progress of Agile adoption to TFS leadership
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with Agile Digital Factory teams as well as our business partners supporting Agile adoption and strategy.
* Develop content and conduct classes, workshops and training sessions and project boot up with newly formed & existing agile teams, helping the teams in their own agile transformations.
* Coaching and mentoring teams in agile techniques and providing constructive feedback
* Help teams identify waste and work on solutions to remove them
* Prepare and conduct training and/or workshop sessions to educate teams in new ways of thinking and working
* Assess teams on their agile maturity level and work with team to become more effective and efficient

What you'll be doing

* Deliver a training program that aligns with TFS' ABC Digital Transformation strategic direction
* Educate teams on the best use of DevOps/Agile/Product Management tools, advise on design, development and deployment processes to ensure best practices, and help drive toward platform automation
* Encourage and promote good engineering practices like Unit testing, code reviews, pair programming and quality engineering practices as well requirements capturing techniques to the teams to improve end to end delivery practices
* Recognize organizational and team-level challenges and address those with all levels of management in a timely fashion
* Change mindsets to adopt a forward-thinking learning culture, including collaboration practices, through training and coaching
* Train and enable Product Factory and Domain Owners through product discovery, strategy, and execution
* Teach and help factory teams in Product Visioning, Continuous Backlog Refinement, Creation of Product Strategy & Roadmap, Customer Personas, Prioritization, Product experimentation, Definition of Done and Ready, etc.
* Help teams and product management understand what opportunities they have to sharpen product development skillsets to ensure the delivery of valuable products and incorporate product feedback back into the delivery process.
* Evaluate a Factory Teams operational health (e.g. team dynamics, agile delivery, product awareness) in order to identify opportunity for improvements, and help these teams mature their practices and more effectively embrace an agile and product mindset
* Work with Digital Academy to create and update learning curriculum to help maintain continuous education for team members
* Understand the future direction of software development, IT impact on the business, the role IT plays, and communicate these trends to the business and IT colleagues
* Utilize knowledge of key business metrics to proactively identify complex areas of improvement; determine whether improvement can be achieved through process changes or technology enhancement; negotiate solutions with stakeholders
* Champion own career through self-development plans; actively soliciting coaching and feedback, and participating in internal and external development opportunities
* Advocate Agile methods and best practice within organization
* Implement changes to the release planning structure, standards, services, deliverables, roles and responsibilities and metrics based on strategy, feedback, kaizen and/or observed gaps
* Drive organizational change related to Release planning strategy

What you bring

* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Mathematics or related discipline, or equivalent job experience is required.
* 5 or more years of experience in Agile coaching, team development, process improvement and complex problem solving
* Agile/Scrum certifications (CSM, PSM or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of Scrum and Kanban
* Experience as a Scrum master
* Experience with the agile methodology
* Knowledge of agile software development

* Agile coaching or Training certification (CEC or similar)
* Experience working with outsourcing models
* Knowledge of The Toyota Way and Toyota Production System (TPS)
* Knowledge of Financial Services and/or Insurance industry
