Position Description:
Lenovo is looking for interns for one of the world's fastest growing
smartphone providers, creating groundbreaking, affordable, high-quality

This team incorporates converging technologies into both existing and new
products that take us beyond today's most advanced products: smartphones,
tablets, PCs, head-mounted displays (HMDs) and ambient/IoT devices. We perform
research and system integration of software and hardware to deliver exciting
products utilizing computer vision, natural language processing, context
awareness, connectivity, authentication & security, as well as other relevant
research areas. This is the team where no idea is too small.

The successful candidate will join the Device+ group in Lenovo Research, an
advanced research and technology group within Lenovo, that conducts applied
research in software and hardware technologies, mobile imaging, connectivity,
sensors and sensor fusion, IoT, augmented/virtual reality, computer vision,
natural language processing, human computer interaction, authentication &
security, and distributed systems. The role requires researching new
technologies and building proof of concepts and prototypes that showcase
state-of-the-art concepts for our next generation devices and services. Be a
part of a high-impact team developing technologies that will dramatically
shape how people and their devices interact.

The candidate will focus on mobile imaging technology research and algorithm
development. The candidate must show a strength in one area of imaging, and a
demonstrated eagerness and ability to learn all the other parts of the imaging
system. The candidate must have in depth knowledge of at least one of the 3As
of Imaging: Auto White Balance, Auto Exposure and/or Auto Focus.

Specific duties include:
* Perform research and analysis of technology trends
* Build proof-of-concepts and prototypes that showcase state-of-the-art
concepts for next gen devices
* Attend technical discussions with Lenovo and Motorola Architects from Lenovo
Research

Position Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
* Pursuing MS degree in EE, CE, CS, Physics, or related field
* Possess strong analytical skills including the ability to define problems,
collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
* Experience with Matlab, C/C++, image processing, camera technology

Preferred Qualifications:
* Pursuing Ph.D. degree in EE, CE, CS, Physics, or related field
* Experience developing one or more of the following: digital signal
processing, AR/VR, machine learning, computer vision
* Analyze algorithms for correctness, completeness, clarity, and computational
resources required
* Understanding of the design and use of data structures and algorithms
