Position Summary

The Admissions Systems Specialist plays a strategic role as the subject matter expert in its admissions system, Slate, in optimizing the School's use of its functionality, and in tracking our progress through the admissions funnel. This role will work closely across all teams in the Office of Graduate Admissions in moving Slate related projects forward. This role will be a liaison between the Admissions Team and other offices such as Marketing, NYU SIS team, and Institutional Research. The incumbent will develop training opportunities for the Admissions staff as well as to program staff and faculty in the use of Slate to maximize recruitment, communications, and yield. This position is analyzes enrollment strategies and tactics through analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to aid in making evidence-based decisions. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated aptitude for systems, databases, and analytical work and be able to present data and findings to a variety of audiences

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:Relevant courses/training (systems analysis, database systems, SQL, web programming)Required Experience:2+ years experience using Slate Technolutions. Experience with data system management or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience developing reports using PeopleSoft queries, Tableau or similar reporting toolsPreferred Experience:Experience using Slate Technolutions with experience in implementation and trainings.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Proficiency with systems/technology integration, spreadsheets, database applications, and other web technologies. Ability to track multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines under pressure and with frequently changing priorities. Ability to manage time effectively. Excellent proofreading and writing skills. Great organizational and interpersonal skills with meticulous attention to detail. Demonstrated commitment and ability to maintain compliance with established guidelines, policies, and procedures in order to ensure consistency. Strong communications skills, both spoken and written; ability to clearly and effectively convey complex information to individuals or groups of people of varying experience levels. Ability to work some evenings and weekends.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Demonstrate understanding of programming logic (examples: SQL, XML, HTML, and/or JavaScript). Understands the working of a relational database (examples: PeopleSoft, ImageNow).
