Quality Assurance (QA) or Manual Test Engineers play a critical role in product development. They are tasked with manually testing applications to ensure that the features work as planned before they're signed off for mass production and release. Manual Test Engineers are closely involved in most phases of the development cycle. They may also review product requirements, provide feedback on product performance and assign test cases to testers.
QA Testers work in different industries. Although there is no specific path to becoming a QA Manual Test Engineer, most employers require that candidates have prior experience managing projects and working as a QA tester or a similar position. Having excellent communication skills, an eye for detail and strong organizational skills are considered core requirements for the job.
