    About toucanBox

toucanBox is an award winning subscriptions service that provides arts and crafts activities for children aged 3 to 8, unleashing their creativity. We are 4 years old. We are backed by renowned VCs, and have exciting ambitions to grow our strong customer base in the UK and expand internationally. We were recently selected in London Stock Exchange’s latest ‘Elite’ cohort.

    Working at toucanBox

You couldn't be joining at a more exciting time. We have a diverse team of 50 who all contribute to a unique culture of variety and excellence. We all care deeply about our product and are pretty darn good at what we do too! Our mission is to unleash the creativity in everyone, and that extends to our vibrant work space which is set up to give people the tools and inspiration to push the boundaries and do some awesome stuff!

We are looking for people who want a piece of the start up journey: people who are not afraid to step out of their comfort zone, be self-starting, adaptable and have the determination to realise our ambitions for world domination. Which can sound a bit evil, but we’re the good guys. Honest.

    Hiring at toucanBox

    First - phone interview

Our interview process typically kicks off with a phone call to set expectations and put us on the same page, as well as to get an idea of your interests and motivations in the role you are hiring for. The screening call usually takes around 15 - 20 mins.

    Second - assignment

If things are looking good from there, we will send you an assignment for you to complete. Sometimes this is a timed exercise. If the role you are applying for has a commercial edge to it, you can also expect to have to present on it during your next onsite interview, which can sound pretty scary, but we will do our best to make you feel comfortable.

    Third - onsite interview

The final stage is an onsite to interview with a team of people (usually 3 at a time) who are all in some way connected with the role. At this stage, we will not only be exploring further your skills specific to the role, but we'll also be getting a handle on your 'toucanoo fit'; this is in no way about looking for clones, but about making sure we get a good idea of the unique qualities you can bring to diversify and strengthen your future team and toucanBox (while being in line with our core values, of course ;)).

Expect a turnaround of a few days. If we're keen, we like to move as fast as we can. We also don't believe in leaving people hanging around. That's not cool.

Also, expect us to be genuine and transparent like our values. We'll always make time to give feedback where we can, and when we haven't, please feel free to ask for it.
