Smooch started in late 2014 as an experiment within Radialpoint. A group of engineers were given the freedom to build a new tool for customer support — they started with a simple Zendesk wrapper.
Only 18 months later the team acquired the rights to the technology they built and spun out as an independent company called Smooch—securing a hefty $10.5m seed round, led by Montreal's 2 leading early stage VC's, Real Ventures and iNovia, TA Associate, and Founders.
Today there's a growing team of 25 with offices in San Francisco and Montreal.
