Smartcar

Smartcar is building an API platform for connected cars. Looking at the next 10 years of transportation, we see a few trends transforming the industry: autonomous, electric, shared and connected. Smartcar is building the connected part. Transportation is roughly 9% of US GDP, our goal is to be a part of shaping its future.

How we work

We're a small team that likes to build fast without compromising on quality. Our engineers work across the platform stack and gain experience with everything from dealing with vehicles to devops on AWS. We like to work collaboratively and believe in planning before coding. You'll often find us huddled around a whiteboard before we embark on a big project. To maintain quality of code we employ automated testing and coverage reporting. (We maintain over 95% code coverage across all repositories!) In addition, we use pull requests to peer review all code before it sees its way into production. This process allows us to practice continuous delivery, where we can deploy confidently to production multiple times per day.

Our Interview Process

We begin our process with a phone call to get to know you and your background as well as share our vision for Smartcar. Next, we do a take home coding challenge where you are allowed to use any and all tools you normally use to code. Finally, we have you come onsite to meet the entire team and see demos of the product. After that, we move to the offer stage!
