    Our Company

SimX is a fast-growing startup bringing virtual and augmented reality to medical simulation training. Our product is the first comprehensive professional-grade VR medical simulation platform, and it is used by our customers to train physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals.

    Our Mission

Our company has an ambitious and high-impact purpose: to transform the way physicians and allied health professionals are trained in order to take a dent out of the more than 400,000 people who die every year from preventable medical errors.

    Our Product

Unlike other VR companies, we don't build one-off experiences from the ground up -- instead, we're building a platform that lets anyone easily build a VR medical training scenario that fits their needs.

Our product became generally available in 2018, and since then we've seen tremendous sales growth -- and we're now in use at some of the most prestigious institutions in the United States and abroad, including Stanford, Northwestern, the Mayo Clinic, the US Air Force, and many more.

The flexibility of our platform has allowed us to deploy training scenarios to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances. We're proud to have played a role in helping train frontline health workers across the world during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to be helping professional schools transition components of their medical training curricula to virtual formats in order to protect the crucial pipeline of healthcare workers.

    Our Team

We're a high-powered team consisting of about half medical professionals and half engineers, all of whom have dedicated their time to achieving our mission. As a startup, we're looking for new team members who are excited about our mission and have the drive to thrive in the startup environment.

Our company is based in the Bay Area, and our offices are currently in downtown San Francisco. Our goal is to have a workforce that represents the full diversity of the health professionals that we aim to train and the patients whose care we want to improve.

Compensation for all positions is a mixture of salary and stock option compensation, with the weighting between salary and options negotiable depending on your preferences. SimX provides benefits (healthcare, commuter, etc.) to all full-time employees.

    Our Hiring Process

SimX has a 2-3 stage interview process:

    • Technical / Subject Matter Interview.
The initial 30 minute videoconference interview will be with 1-2 team members with expertise in the position you are applying to. We'll chat a bit about SimX, your background, and the job and work environment, and then we'll ask some more in-depth subject matter based questions.
    • Second Round Interview.
The second 30 minute videoconference interview will be with two of our founders. We'll be trying to get a feel for how you like to interact with your team and the company you work for, and what your preferences around work environment are. The intent of this interview is to make sure both sides are sure this would be a good fit.
    • Final Interview.
For some positions, we will end the process with a final interview. The nature of this interview depends on the specifics of the position you're applying for, and most of our jobs do not include this step.

SimX is an equal opportunity employer. Our employment decisions will be based solely on the merit and qualifications of applicants without discrimination, including discrimination with regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or national origin. SimX is committed to making reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with disabilities.

    COVID-19 Update

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SimX has transitioned to fully remote operations. Though we do plan to return to in-office work, the health and safety of our team is our top priority, and we will not return until we are convinced it is safe to do so.
