Robin AI was founded in 2019 by Richard Robinson, a lawyer, and James Clough, a machine learning scientist.

Too many businesses are being held back by routine legal work. It slows down deals in the M&A sector, it stops small businesses from focusing on their core work, and in the world's biggest enterprises it wastes millions of pounds.

We believe that the root cause of this problem is the outdated technology being used by the legal sector. Other business functions have user-friendly software, data in structured and queryable databases, and APIs that lets information flow to other parts of the company. But in legal, contracts are manually read and edited in Word, and business critical data is stored in PDFs.

There are complicated but real reasons that the legal sector has been slow to embrace change. But we've got a business model which has allowed us to build the next generation of legal technology in a way that provides our clients with real value. And our approach is being vindicated by our rapid growth, and list of clients which include some of the worlds most prestigious law firms, biggest banks, fastest-growing scale-ups and best known corporations.
