We’ve been in the ticket business for a long time and operate one of the largest ticket marketplaces in the world. The company was founded in 2001, and we received our first round of VC financing in 2005 (more on that below). Since then, we’ve helped over a 2 million customers experience the thrill of watching their home team play live or their favorite band perform. We’re all about the live event experience!
In 2015, we’re embarking on a somewhat newer journey. With a fresh round of funding, we’re looking to combine our experience and long history with technology to achieve one primary goal: making it easier to buy tickets and experience live events. We really do want to make it simple to find, buy tickets to and attend live events – and do it all on your phone.
So in short (and keep in mind that we’re constantly learning and refining) we want to:
- Make buying tickets easier and more convenient – and delight customers by delivering all tickets to the phone, instantly (and for free!)
- Present the right customer with the right ticket offer in the right place at the right time (without being intrusive or annoying)
- Help potential customers discover incredible local events that they may want to attend
Mobile presents unique opportunities:
Localized demand generation (for example, what's happening near me that I might like), ongoing and targeted location based promotions and last minute buying & ticket delivery, which not only saves the customer a ton of money, but makes it even easier to attend an event.

Ticketing is a huge market! Between primary, secondary and tickets that go unsold (dead, as we call them), we're talking about a ~$40 billion addressable market! Interest in live events continues to rise. Mobile is growing even faster (according to Google, as of mid-2014, 1 in 5 tickets are bought online with a smartphone).
