Pixability’s story started not with MIT and a YouTube ad tech idea, as many like to claim, but with Bettina Hein’s grandmother.
Bettina Hein, Founder and CEO of Pixability, first fell in love with video when she saw how her grandmother's personality and life story was portrayed in the vibrant medium. Maria Neveling was a lively woman, and the very best way to capture her spirit and passion was through video. Bettina subsequently went to MIT and founded Pixability in 2008… but it all started with her grandmother.
Bettina assessed the input factors of video in early 2008 and saw that they were dropping by huge orders of magnitude: the cost of bandwidth, editing software, filming equipment, etc. She knew there was a business opportunity there. Google had just acquired YouTube, and the tides were turning in video’s favor. Bettina realized that she could build something great with video. And so Pixability was born.
Bettina learned that marketing videos is even harder than creating them. As an experienced software entrepreneur, Bettina realized that this problem was a problem she could help businesses solve—through building software based around powerful data.
Pixability began building software, and Bettina realized that through insights based on data, she and her team could influence whether or not brands succeeded or failed with video—and most recently, specifically on YouTube.
Once brands and their media agencies realized that Pixability’s data and insights could make a significant impact on their videos’ performance on YouTube, they began engaging Pixability to assist with video and channel SEO, advertising campaigns, and YouTube strategy.
The rest is history. And Bettina’s grandmother would certainly be proud of what Pixability has become today—a rapidly growing successful YouTube ad buying and video marketing tech company based in the heart of Boston with an enviable customer list and even more impressive customer results.
