Owlpal

Owlpal is a patent-protected mobile health solution that monitors asthma in children at night. It functions as a smart device application that utilizes the internal acoustic capabilities of an Android or iOS device to monitor wheezing and coughing within children as they sleep. Owlpal's core functionality consists of a medical alert system that, upon recognition of risk-indicating respiratory behaviors, triggers an alarm on a parent's mobile device, notifying them that their child is at risk of an asthma attack.

The Owlpal mobile solution is based upon extensive scientific research over the ability to use wheeze and cough monitoring as a noninvasive way to objectively manage nocturnal asthma in children.

No solution exists for the monitoring of nocturnal asthma, a condition that affects more than five million children across the U.S. and is the source of nearly 47% of all asthma attacks.

Owlpal is currently in the second phase of prototype development.
