We are Myer's innovation team and responsible for customer facing, in store apps (iOS & Android) and web apps.
As an Innovation team, we are acting like a start-up within Myer. We are doing things in a different way; challenge the status quo and try to eliminate processes so that we can continuously deliver.
At the moment, we have implemented an Agile Scrum by the book approach with a cross-functional development team with ten team members, a Scrum Master and a Development Manager.
Our team is made up of a wide range of skill sets including Cloud Computing, DevOps, UX design, frontend development, backend development, testing and deployment - we can deliver software without any external dependencies.
In addition, we are applying Extreme Programming practices with test driven development (furthermore behaviour driven development) code reviews on task level and pair programming for tricky features.
From a technical point of view we are using the latest open source technologies and frameworks, host our solutions in the AWS cloud and try to automate everything (testing, build, deployment, etc.)
As a team, we celebrate our success on fortnightly gatherings and do Yoga Sessions during lunch time.
