LoyaltyLion is a data-driven loyalty and engagement platform trusted by thousands of ecommerce brands worldwide. Merchants use LoyaltyLion when they want a fully customised loyalty program that is proven to increase customer engagement, retention and spend. Stores using LoyaltyLion typically generate at least $15 for every $1 they spend on the platform.
Today LoyaltyLion works with over 10,000 fast-growth ecommerce retailers. Our mission is to help them succeed in the age of Amazon, where they may not be able to compete on price and logistics but can offer a better customer experience. One that makes customers feel valued, rather than like they are just another number.
LoyaltyLion was founded by Charlie (ex-Deloitte) and Dave (ex-Sun Microsystems and Oracle). We spent 12 months doing some serious bootstrapping – using a friend’s lounge as an office, renting the cheapest accommodation (it had no bathroom!) and taking government loans to make LoyaltyLion a success.
LoyaltyLion is backed by EC1 Capital and Downing Ventures plus, among others, the co-founder of Europe's largest loyalty program and the former e-commerce director of ASOS.
Engineering at LoyaltyLion is always interesting as we need to build for two distinct sets of users: merchants and shoppers. To make it extra difficult, we never talk directly to shoppers because we're white-label - that makes our internal tracking and analytics even more valuable so we're not in the dark.
We're a small, agile team with a strong focus on the product - everything we build has a purpose and provides value. When it comes to development, clean and safe is our number priority. All our services are backed by strong test suites, and we strive to make our deployment process as deterministic as possible (we use Docker, ECS and Terraform).
Our core applications are built using Node.js, PostgreSQL and AWS. Our front-end development uses React, Redux and TypeScript.
