We are a web based financial services company, focusing on small business lending. Our website leverages proprietary algorithms to match small business borrowers with their best-fit options from a set of lenders. These algorithms are driven by user entered criteria and proprietary information. We’ve built a successful MVP, and we’re looking for a senior level Rails developer to take the Company to the next level.
The market opportunity is exciting. Traditional small business financing is in flux, with a host of new, alternative lenders entering the space. We’re helping small businesses make sense of it all, creating jobs and helping Main Street, while being at the leading edge of a rapidly changing industry.

Responsibilities:
• Create web applications primarily using Rails
• Specifically, mature the website: the site is currently in MVP+ status, and is poised for significant enhancement and expansion
• Work closely with the CTO to help determine priority for projects and enhancements
• Own your work products, from inception to execution, and stay on top of them
• Security: we’re in the financial space, so we’re concerned about password security, privacy protection, and anti-hacking measures
• Be engaged and amazing

Types of skills we’re looking for:
• Ruby on Rails
• jQuery/AJAX
• Bootstrap and Responsive Web Design
• Sass/Compass/Haml
• PostreSQL Database architecture
• Familiarity with Heroku, AWS, Git

Requirements
• This is a startup. We wear a lot of hats, and we need a person that can balance longer term strategic goals with the need to quickly put out fires
• Ability to work both independently and in cooperation with others
• 4 years full lifecycle web development or software development experience
• 2 years RoR experience/1 year Heroku experience a plus
