HomeWorks Energy was founded with the mission to make energy efficiency simple and easy for homeowners. Energy efficiency is the easiest and fastest way to reduce our overall energy need, but some many homeowners are deterred by cost, hassle of finding a partner to install their upgrades, and complicated incentive structures. By making energy efficiency simple and removing all the hurdles for homeowners we have been able to actually drive real change.

HomeWorks was founded as an administrator of the Mass Save program incentives to homeowners in Massachusetts. Working out of one of the founders parents house in 2013 with a few friends HWE was able to grow 300% year-over-year by offering simple energy efficiency solutions to homeowners and guiding them through the complicated Mass Save program incentives (in a real office now). With over 100 employees and serving more than 15,000 homeowners the company has expanded to all of Massachusetts. As HWE grew, it became apparent that the biggest barrier to energy efficiency is financing. To solve this problem, we developed the Home Energy Efficiency Transition (HEET) program that allows homeowner to use their savings to pay for the home upgrades. We believe that by providing no cost energy efficiency upgrades to homeowners and allowing them to realize immediate saving we can move faster toward a more sustainable future.
