Can one growing edtech startup change the face of education? We believe so and we have the team, the products, the culture and millions of users working together to help us do just that.
Since our launch in 2007, we've become one of the largest educational platforms for school age children available online. We have over 16 million registered users and get 36+ million monthly page views. You won't get a better chance to have an impact on millions of parents and teachers.
Education.com is growing into a dynamic educational platform with millions of users looking to for the next great products to help their students and children learn. To make that happen, we need dynamic, committed, interesting (and really fun) people to help us achieve our mission of becoming the most important and utilized educational platform available for parents and teachers of early learners. Help us break the mold of the traditional educational resources being force-fed to our students.
We believe strongly that building great products goes hand in hand with building a great culture. And beyond the exceptional people, perks and fun we all benefit from seeing the direct impact that our work has on so many parents and teachers each day.
At Education.com, we believe that children everywhere deserve access to the best, most innovative learning tools on the market. We work hard because we believe in our mission, and we play hard because we also believe in Ping-Pong, happy hour, field trips, and work-life balance. You won't be working late nights or weekends (unless you want to). We offer in office Yoga and meditation, as well as happy hours and other events at least .
Our energetic company culture celebrates trying new things; every idea, successful or not, is part of innovation. The learning never stops, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Our engineering team is small and agile. Engineers are involved in projects from the very beginning. We help brainstorm ideas, spec out and implement features, help with marketing, look at data analytics, etc.; there are no departmental silos here. You'll start pushing major features to production within a month or two of starting and you'll be helping out millions of parents and teachers when you do!
We're always experimenting with new technologies and we try to stay on the cutting edge of web development. Our Brainzy HTML5 gaming platform uses canvas, SVG, Web Audio API, 3D transforms, web storage, HTML5 video, React, Redux and more. We also love using and contributing to open source projects.
We start with a short introductory phone call where we'll talk about the company, culture, and your background. The next step is a technical phone screen with one of our engineers. This is meant to get a general sense of your development experience and areas of expertise. The next (and usually last) step is an on-site interview where you'll meet the team, do some coding problems on a whiteboard, and see if there's a good culture fit. This usually lasts a couple hours, but we're flexible depending on your schedule.
