Our Story
In 2011, the smartphone revolution was well underway, and it was clear that technology was reinventing every aspect of our daily lives.
Developed first as a ridesharing platform, Dashride began as a mobile app called Sobrio. Sobrio focused on making college campuses safer by connecting students who needed safe rides to designated drivers on their campus. Over the course of 2 years, Sobrio became a pioneer in the rideshare industry, and provided thousands of safe rides to students across some of the largest college campuses.
During this growth, it became clear that this mobile hailing and automated dispatching solution was needed throughout the industry. In early 2014, as Uber proved the necessity for mobile software, Sobrio relaunched as Dashride, an open platform for independent livery operators. Since this relaunch, Dashride is helping companies provide a great on-demand experience in a mobile-first world.
