    Our story ๐Ÿ“–

The founding team started by focusing on a personal problem, being lost in a big complex city. We have created an app that helps people move through our urban spaces, getting people from A to B.

We expanded to 40 cities worldwide - always ensuring that we are able to focus on all the details that will make our app usable in all cities.
In 2019 we created Citymapper Pass as the natural next step for the worldโ€™s best transport app - solving ticketing. Urban mobility is changing and Pass offers a weekly subscription covering all modes of transport in a city; simplifying booking and payment across public and private transit.

    Technology at Citymapper ๐Ÿ’ก

Citymapper engineers come from diverse backgrounds: startups, big tech companies, and even those that have never worked anywhere before. Some come with letters after their name like โ€œPhDโ€ or from backgrounds in things like astrophysics; some come with no formal engineering education or from backgrounds in veterinarian compliance.

In our small team, we represent more than a dozen countries and languages. What unites us in an intense desire to create the best products, data and tools to help people move around complex cities. We breathe, eat, sleep, and dream mobility and cities from the algorithms to the data to the tools that make the data. Check out our blog at engineering.citymapper.com.
