Our Story

AVADO is an ‘Ed-Tech’ company with a difference. We create and run web-based training courses for professional development across sectors and focus on actual outcomes. The work we do enables professionals to study for vocational and credible qualifications that further their careers.

To do this we need to ‘get’ learning, and marry that with appropriate technology. We’re at the forefront of a new sector that is having a positive impact on peoples’ lives. We achieve high success rates – not just in the number of people who complete our courses but in exam pass rates too.

It is this ethos and fresh approach of using tech to enable real learning that brought the likes of Google to come to us and work with our teams on digitalising education.

We have real products and real revenue, and continue to expand rapidly. We have tripled in size in the last two years and are still growing 50% year-on-year. We are currently educating around 30,000 people a year, yet our big goal is to eventually be educating 1,000,000 people annually. This may seem ambitious but we have already made huge strides in a very short amount of time.

HQ and most of our 260 + staff are based in London however we're already going global. We’ve opened offices in Singapore, Hamburg, New York and Mumbai, and are continuing to launch our digital products across new markets and cultures.

We’re backed by Blenheim Chalcot (BC), the UK’s leading venture builder who specialise in tech start-ups. BC have built over 40 companies, with AVADO representing one segment of a cohesive group that are built around curious, engaging and entrepreneurial people.

Our Environment

Fundamentally, we are a community of ‘doers’ who are passionate about digital and education.

We are a diverse & multinational group, with a highly experienced management team leading us who understand how critical it is to combine tech and learning together.

Our developers and tech team have a tangible input into our product development and work with Product Owners to shape essential parts of our business.

We have grown enormously in only a few years and are rushing to keep up. We are building a tech team that will enable us to keep pushing and expanding internationally. Each person on the team has a real opportunity to make a difference, taking ownership of work that will be at the forefront of what users will experience.

We’re based in the heart of Hammersmith, just a few minutes’ walk away from the tube and a host of bars, cafes & restaurants. (Though, come the end of the week we have our own culinary entertainment in the office, courtesy of "Cheese Friday".) We are a sociable bunch. We work hard but with flexibility, and make sure we have a good time while doing so.

How We Hire

We look to conduct processes with flexibility. We'd typically like to have an introduction call to provide you with some further context and discuss our environment to see if it would be a mutual fit. From that point we would look to set up a meeting between yourself and several key stakeholders to discuss your experience and how it could fit into the team, with technical roles involving the opportunity to cast an eye over some code. We aim to complete this in one day to make life easier for both you and us.
