AND Digital was born in 2014, when our founder Paramjit Uppal recognised that “software was eating the world”, and that regardless of industry, software and data are now at the heart of everything. Fundamentally, this means that every business is now a tech business.
As ‘doing’ tech is still a human activity, all businesses need their own people to innovate, successfully compete, and delight their customers. Yet most businesses lack the digital skills for them to be successful. AND Digital was born from the desire to close this Digital Skills Gap.
The Club Model
AND's unique model
An AND Digital office is called a Club. A group of Clubs in a given region form a Hub. This decentralised model - which grants autonomy and independence to individual Clubs - is important to the way AND Digital supports clients: it ensures that we provide the attentiveness of a small company AND the benefits and support of a larger organisation.
Let’s break down the structure to see where your skills and expertise will have the most impact.
Hubs
We currently have 4 Hubs across the UK and Europe. Each hub is made up of multiple clubs within the area and a supporting team we call Tenzing.
Clubs
Each Club has its own office space, its own leadership and its own vision.
Each Clubhouse operates with 6 squads, a practice group and a leadership team. The leadership team includes People Leads, Service Delivery Leads and a Club Executive.
This gives each Club the autonomy to shape and create their own culture.
Squads
Each Club operates with 6 smaller teams - called Squads - that work on delivering client projects. Within a squad, there are multiple levels of tech-focused roles to ensure a diverse range of skills.
Each Squad has a range of associate ANDis all the way up to a Squad Lead to help manage workloads and prioritise scrum sprints but are still hands-on with client work
Why Join us
A culture built around purpose, enjoyment, and learning
We know how important it is for you to know what it's really like to work at a company before you apply. You need to make sure it's a good culture fit and that you'll receive job satisfaction, recognition, and progression.
Culture
At AND Digital we're building an incredible culture that is diverse, inclusive, and underpinned by psychological safety. We want people to be confident to be creative and take risks. We also know how important work-life balance is. We encourage and support each ANDi to pursue their own interests and hobbies.
We’re proud to be recognised as a world-class company. We’ve been awarded the No1 Best Tech Company to Work for in the UK, as well as the No.3 Best Large Company to work for in the country, across all sectors.
We're also ranked 2nd on the Glassdoor Best Places to Work UK 2022 leaderboard.
Our organisational structure means clubhouses across the UK are independent. They have their own leadership team, culture, and vision - this means we can forge unique organisational identities that are connected to regions in which we operate.
Career Development at AND
Every ANDi gets an annual training budget which they can use to help upskill themselves. We also give 13 days on top of your regular holiday allowance for upskilling and innovation. This gives you time to learn, reflect on and then implement new knowledge and skills.
Socialising at AND
There are more than 1,000 ANDis and we want to make sure everyone has a chance to socialise and talk about their shared passions with others around the business as they would if they were sitting in the same office with them.
Every year we host a company-wide networking event for all ANDis to join. This is a great opportunity for everyone to meet across Clubs and business units, chat, socialise and hear from our executive board on the direction of AND.
Team days are for Clubhouses or business units to enjoy time together and participate in team activities. Sometimes they are used volunteer in their local community. It’s entirely up to the team how they spend their day.
The important thing to remember is that every team and Club at AND is independent. This means your team days and social budget is not dictated by the wider company. You have the opportunity to put your ideas forward and shape the social culture of your team.
Process
Process is straight forward, call with recruiter, 1st stage technical, 2nd stage cultural and then look to make a decision from there, either offer or reject, all interviews are VC
