Altiscale was founded in March 2012 by Yahoo, Google, and LinkedIn engineers who have run some of the largest Hadoop clusters in the world. We realized that to stay competitive, more and more companies will need to leverage the power of Hadoop, but can’t afford to be distracted from their core business to operate the infrastructure and the platform itself.
That’s why we introduced the Altiscale Data Cloud. We buy the hardware, manage and maintain the platform, keep Hadoop updated, and worry about the hundreds of other issues that make Hadoop so difficult to run well. We even monitor your jobs and let you know if they have problems. Discover insights faster and leave the Hadoop headaches to us.

Altiscale’s mission is to help our customers discover value in the flood of data generated by the connected world. We do this by allowing our customers to focus on data science, not running a Hadoop platform. Our product, Altiscale Data Cloud, is the first purpose-built Hadoop cloud, delivering Infinite Hadoop, a Proactive Hadoop Helpdesk, and Hadoop Innovation.
