The founders are all folks from Quattro Wireless - a startup acquired by Apple in 2010. We all had the startup itch at the 3 year mark at Apple and started exploring the health technology space - devices, platforms etc. We quickly realized, based on our own personal experiences and what we we learning during our research, that food is a fundamental (perhaps THE fundamental) component of health and wellness.
We decided as our initial go-to-market to build an app that solves the "what's healthy for me to eat around me" eat-out use case not just at the restaurant level but down to the dish level. This is proving to be a great combination of a big data problem, a community activation problem and a search/recommendation UX problem - we're happy to talk to client (iOS/Android) engineers, designers, back-end data folks, recco algorithm folks etc.
