About AMS

AMS is an energy services platform company pioneering the deployment and optimization of clean energy assets. Our platform enables the simultaneous optimization of distributed energy resources, including storage, on-site generation, and traditional demand response, providing both consumer benefits and grid services.

We are a team of industry experts that came together to help build the energy grid of the future. We are turning customer-sited resources into virtual power plants, thereby reducing dependence on conventional generation sources and deferring costly utility infrastructure investment.

Engineering team

We are a team of fifteen software developers and data scientists, looking to double this year. Our team is highly collaborative and has close relationships with product teams. We enjoy paired programming, are provided the autonomy to dive deep into challenging projects, and encourage each other to continue to learn and improve as engineers.

As an engineer, you would be part of one of three execution teams focused on algorithmic energy market participation, simulation and analysis of innovative energy products, or real-time battery monitoring and control applications. All of these teams are led by an engineer and a product owner, and everyone on the team has the opportunity to impact the project roadmap and software design.

Interview process

1. Introductory call (45 minutes) with one of our engineering leaders.
2. Technical phone screen (60 minutes). Paired programming with an engineer.
3. On-site (4 hours), including a problem solving exercise, discussions with product managers, engineers, leadership, and lunch.

We are especially interested in how you approach problems and ask questions to explore the problem space.
