It all started with six people who are avid podcast listeners. They saw a market that was growing faster then ever with no clear way for content creators to monetize their work. The only option was through direct sponsorships which caused an ever-growing ‘advertising creep’ into the content.
Thus, Acast was born November, 2013 in Stockholm, Sweden. We launched our platform in Sweden in May, 2014, and later that year in the UK. We are now entering the US market and are opening an office in New York.
Our goal is simple; We want to change the way the world views on-demand audio. We want to enable content creators to distribute & monetize their work and to connect with their audience. We also want to provide a unique consumption and discovery experience for that audience.
