MIDAS Software Solutions began as a medical equipment supplier in 1999. With decades of experience in selling and supporting medical equipment, we leveraged our contacts and knowledge of the medical domain to open our software division.
In 2016, MIDAS was purchased by Paragon Care. Paragon Care is an ASX listed company, providing medical equipment and services since 1994. MIDAS provided an in-road into the software world that Paragon Care hopes to grow. It is a wonderful environment having a large company behind us, while maintaining our independence and identity.
With the current offerings in medical reporting seen as severely lacking, an opening was found in constructing a modern, well engineered reporting platform for medical services.
And so MIDAS was born. Using latest technologies and employing bright minds in technology and medicine it is light-years ahead of the software offerings from the big names in medical software such as Phillips, GE and Toshiba.
MIDAS is a cloud reporting system. It remotely receives data from different medical devices and sends them to the cloud. This data is then available to the reporting doctors to view images, analyse the measurements and perform any drawings to give their diagnosis.
The element that sets MIDAS apart is it's interpretive reporting engine. Rather than simply placing the measurements and observations into a static template, the MIDAS reporting engine operates at an interpretive level - it provides a fully formed, dynamic report. This leads to a provisional report that is almost complete, to be reviewed by the reporting doctor. This allows the reporting doctor to complete many more studies in a given day, and produce a report back to the patient in a shorter turn around period.
In addition to the reporting capabilities, the MIDAS platforms status as a web based, multi platform software means that reporting can be done anywhere, on any device. A patient who is scanned in Melbourne could be reported by a doctor in Brisbane. This allows flexible working for doctors, and opens the possibility to grow national pools of doctors than can report all across the world with all needed data at their fingertips.
MIDAS is growing, expanding it's reporting capabilities into more medical domains. As a platform it will expand into providing business analytics, allowing medical practice managers insight into how to fine tune their workflows to achieve efficiency. Modules into medical research are also planned, allowing data MIDAS collects to learn more about the big picture in terms of trends and studies.
As MIDAS solidifies itself in Australia and New Zealand, large markets such and EU, UK and US are the goal. Emerging markets in Asia could prove to be a strong possibility for growth. Scaling and engineering towards these goals will a big part of where the product and company will be focusing its efforts in the medium to long term.
