Octopart began as a Y-Combinator backed startup working to open up access to electronic part data for design, sourcing and manufacturing. Octopart was founded by a trio of experimental physicists with a vision of a better way to find parts online. Today, over 600,000 engineers, scientists and sourcing professionals use our tools to search for parts across thousands of suppliers. We manage structured data for 30 million parts and growing.
In 2015, Octopart was acquired by Altium, the electronics design tool of choice for hardware startups up to large companies. As part of Altium, Octopart is continuing it's mission to be the place where everyone goes to get information about all electronic components.
We sit at the intersection of software and electronic hardware. Our search engine enables engineers to find the parts they're looking for during prototyping, and our supply chain data keeps factory lines running during production. Join us as we open up access to the data needed to build the next generation of hardware.
