Summary:

The Analytical Solution Architect will be a member of the Customer Advisory Team in the US Government practice. This position will provide assistance, support and guidance to sales, delivery and industry consultant members on all aspects of the customer journey. This person will ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and provide thought leadership focusing on value and adoption through listening and understanding customer needs, positioning and delivering the right SAS solutions. This person possesses a strong knowledge of SAS products, solutions and advanced analytics and will participate in and lead in the design and delivery of overviews, demonstration, proof of concepts and pilot projects. The Analytical Solutions Architect will have the ability to relate technical concepts to SAS applications and oversee the progress of ongoing services and delivery ensuring customer expectations and user needs are met and ongoing success and growth is achieved.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Strategizes and plans with sales team on objectives for customer meetings, understands how this activity relates to overall sales plan and provides functional solution leadership for sales opportunities.
* Builds a trusted relationship with the Account Executive and other stakeholders to provide practical guidance in the functional and technical aspects of proposed software and set proper expectations to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Leverages knowledge of any relevant domain, analytics, or SAS Solutions to increase SAS's credibility primarily in sales situations.
* Assists in the response to RFI/RFP's utilizing the RFP Repository and crafting thorough and compelling answers.
* Conducts discovery meetings to collect, clarify and document technical and business requirements during the sales cycle.
* Participates in product and solution training to acquire and maintain a detailed level of product knowledge of core components of SAS solutions and offerings, how each solution addresses business challenges, competitive information to identify how our solution stands apart, and what challenges/limitations may be encountered.
* Works pro-actively with the extended account team of Industry Consultants, Solution Architects and Technical Architects to strategize and collaborate on opportunities, cross-training and knowledge transfer.
* Assists with providing market-driven information and supporting assets for future product direction using industry expertise and direct interaction with customers, prospects, analysts, and other external resources.
* Delivers technical architecture related information, leads technical discovery sessions, responds to architecture and infrastructure questions when necessary.
* Delivers standard, customized and/or strategic presentations outlining the proposed software functional capabilities, competitive advantages and business benefits.
* Builds credibility and trusted advisor relationship with customers.
* Performs other duties, as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in the areas of advanced analytics
* Advanced degree in economics, statistics, or other quantitative related discipline
* Knowledge and proficiency in SAS products and solutions
* Knowledge and proficiency in open-source technology including, but not limited to R, Python, Hadoop, etc.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong facilitation and communications skills.
* Ability to travel 25% of the time or as business requirements dictate at management discretion.

Complexity

Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships.

Supervision

Receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Problem Solving

Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.

Education

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Computer Science, or other quantitative field related to area of assignment. Advanced degree in advanced analytics disciplines (Business Analytics, Master of Science in Analytics, etc.)

Experience

Typically requires two years of experience in technical sales, marketing, technical support, information systems, or related area of expertise, including one year of programming on a high level language or developing SAS applications. Specific industry-related experience may be considered in lieu of programming experience for some positions. Public speaking experienced required.

Equivalency:

Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements above.

Physical Requirements:

Work is typically performed in an office environment, using simple, easy muscular movements, involving only the handling of light materials, tools, or equipment in easy work positions, and with no special speed requirements or long stretches of exertion.
