Description
As an engineer on the simulation software team, you will design, develop, and test high-fidelity simulations of all SpaceX flight systems. You will develop core simulation infrastructure as well as models of fluid, electronic, and multi-body physics systems. You will work with other SpaceX engineers to learn about the systems you simulate and how your simulations will be used to develop cutting-edge software and hardware.
Responsibilities:
* Develop high-fidelity simulation software for all vehicles
* Improve reliability and performance of simulation software
* Work with vehicle software and GNC teams to develop new features for testing in the simulation environment and improve user experiences
* Provide strong technical leadership, focus on continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline OR 2+ years of experience in software development
* Experience programming in C++
Preferred Skills and Experience:
* Strong software design and development skills
* Thorough knowledge of physics and math
* Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization and unit testing
* Creative approach to problem solving
* Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements
* Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively
Additional Requirements:
* Willing to work extended hours and weekends when needed
