Summary of Position

Federal Signal has an immediate opening for a Security & Compliance Analyst who will be involved with and support the implementation of new security solutions and contribute to the creation and maintenance of policies, standards and baselines, guidelines and procedure.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

* Design and creation of enterprise security documents (i.e., policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures).
* Participate in the planning and design of an enterprise Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan.
* Design and creation of audit and compliance planning for SOX related activities.
* Design and creation of data privacy policies and procedures including GDPR.

Acquisition & Deployment

* Maintain up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
* Recommend additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security.
* Perform the deployment, integration and initial configuration of all new security solutions and of any enhancements to existing security solutions in accordance with standard best operating procedures generically and the enterprise's security documents specifically.

Operational Management

* Audit and provide security assessments and recommendations for security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software.
* Audit and provide security assessments and recommendations for databases and data transferred both internally and externally.
* Design, perform, and/or oversee penetration testing of all systems in order to identify system vulnerabilities.
* Design, implement, and report on security system and end user activity audits.
* Monitor server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interpret activity and make recommendations for resolution.
* Recommend, schedule (where appropriate), and apply fixes, security patches, disaster recovery procedures, and any other measures required in the event of a security breach.
* Participate in SOX compliance auditing.
* Develop and manage procedures and data flow for GDPR and upcoming data privacy laws.

Position Requirements

* University Degree in the field of Cyber security
* One or more of the following certifications:

o CompTIA Security+

o GIAC Information Security Fundamentals

o Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator: Security

o Associate of (ISC)2

* Minimum of 1-2 years years of recent IT Security and Compliance experience
* Experience with data privacy laws including GDPR and US States. SOX audit and Compliance Regulations, Cybersecurity and NIST best practices
* Strong understanding of IP, TCP/IP, and other network administration protocols
* Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
* Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to conduct research into IT security issues and products
* Ability to present ideas in business and user-friendly language
* Highly self-motivated and directed
* Keen attention to detail
* Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment
