Head of Security

Job Description

We're looking for a Head of Security to lead security engineering efforts across our organization. In this unique role, you'll set the vision and direction for your group and tie that work into OpenAI's larger mission.

You will

* Take a leadership role in driving internal security initiatives
* Build and evangelize security policies and best practices
* Provide security guidance on a constant stream of research needs
* Work directly with our research teams to improve the security of our systems
* Lead compliance audits for our internal security policies
* Be responsible for hiring a world-class security team

You may be a fit for this role if you have

* 8+ years of security experience and 3+ years leading and managing teams in a fast-paced environment
* Knowledge of attack surfaces for enterprise systems and services
* Experience defining threat models for a small or medium size organization
* Demonstrated success with planning and execution of large security projects with multiple business stakeholders
* Excellence in problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams
* Experience defending against state-level actors is a plus
