As an Amazon Web Services Direct Connect Data Engineer you will enhance the culture of data-driven decision-making within the AWS Direct Connect team and AWS Networking organization.

For AWS customers, the "cloud" offers a low-cost, virtual, ephemeral, and scalable compute and storage infrastructure. Linking cloud's physical resources is a complex network of interdependent systems and processes. The Direct Connect Business Intelligence team strives to deeply understand the business side of our world class network and how our customers interact with it.

A foundational element for this effort is building and operating a business intelligence platform to help track, digest and make decisions based on the myriad ways that AWS customers interact with our global network infrastructure and specifically the Direct Connect product.

This high impact role will have an opportunity to help design and build our data infrastructure, work with emerging technologies such as Redshift, Athena, Aurora, and other AWS Services while driving business intelligence solutions end-to-end: business requirements, workflow instrumentation, data modeling, ETL, metadata, reporting, and dash boarding. The role requires someone who loves data, understands enterprise information systems, and has a strong business sense.

Responsibilities

* You will be designing, developing, and implementing the data infrastructure that elevates data-driven decision-making for the AWS Direct Connect team, including but not limited to new business initiatives, cost modelling and pricing.
* You will work with business customers and development teams to define analytics requirements and then deliver flexible, scalable solutions from end-to-end, harvesting data from throughout the organization and transforming it into normalized data marts from which business metrics and analysis can be reliably generated.
