SUMMARY:

The Business Intelligence Specialist utilizes variety of database and reporting analysis tools to standardize data collection by developing methods for database design, data integration and validation. Provides application analysis and data modeling design to collect data for a centralized data warehouse. Extracts data from databases and data warehouse for reporting, facilitates sharing between multiple data systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Participate in all phases of full lifecycle BI development projects including data warehouse build out, report development, OLAP development, dashboard development, etc.
* Work closely with business owners to plan and execute BI and reporting related projects on time, with high quality, and within budget
* Promote activities of the BI team in the effective delivery of information to cross functional business users and groups
* Identify opportunities for improvement in development and business processes, methodologies and system capabilities
* Report status and issues timely to BI Director
* Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND BEHAVIORS:

* Strong technical and analytical skills:
* Experience delivering enterprise BI solutions, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technologies (SSAS, Tableau, Pentaho)
* Solid knowledge and expertise with SQL (MS SQL, MYSQL, Aurora), able to create complex stored procedures and utilize analytical functions
* Knowledge/familiarity with AWS Redshift preferred
* Experience in data mining, ETL design and development tools (SSIS, Pentaho) (College project experience acceptable)
* Experience with cloud-based computing (especially AWS)


* Ability to leverage technology and working relationships to solve business problems. Innovative and collaborative approach to problem solving to achieve business results
* Proactive in dealing with customers and takes ownership and responsibility for driving issues to resolution
* Excellent time management skills. Proven record of successful delivery of BI projects as individual contributor

REQUIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.
* 0-2 years in developing ETL, analytics, reporting, data warehousing, and BI solutions
