We are the Ipsos Behavioral Data Group. We're a small but diverse growing team of data nerds specialized in understanding the pairing of digital behaviors with consumer mindsets. Over the past two years we have evolved our vast collection of custom project work into a standardized suite of business solutions. For 2019 we continue to expand the list of clients and portfolio of capabilities. It's an exciting time to join us. We have a voracious appetite for learning and a geeky sense of humor. This team doesn't shy away from challenges and we excel at tackling some of the toughest problems in market research today.

We work with Fortune 500 partners across all industries worldwide to bring new data streams into our business, combining them with advanced analytical and modeling techniques to develop a richer understanding of our clients' customers.

Position Summary

We're looking for a motivated and independent-minded individual adept in data analytics and proficient in predictive modeling techniques to bring their passion for data to our team. Our work centers us at the intersection of a wide range of data sources including mobile device activity, desktop usage, media exposure and survey responses. This data scientist should have a deep curiosity to explore these data sets and uncover insights through novel analytical methods. Goals include interpreting and solving for existing business opportunities as well as the innovation and development of new analytic offerings. Self-motivation, problem solving skills, and a knack for data wrangling are all must haves.

Key Responsibilities

* Work with stakeholders to design ad-hoc projects including statistical analysis, visualization and report frameworks.
* Product ownership for the ideation, sourcing, development and refinement of new and existing capabilities.
* Manage data vendor relationships. Understand and convey strengths or caveats of their data.
* Build structured and unstructured datasets that form the foundation of predictive models.
* Develop processes to quantify model performance and accuracy for rapid product iteration.
* Operate as internal expert for advanced statistical methodologies and their application.
* Communicate models and insights to non-technical audiences.
* Contribute to project analyses for client deliveries as required.

Must Have Qualifications

* 1-3 years of work or internship experience in analytics, data science, market research or related field.
* Bachelor's degree in a quantitative subject. (e.g. Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering)
* Experience using scripting (Python, Perl) or high-level programming languages (Julia, Scala) for advanced analytics.
* Experience with statistical or scientific computational software like Python (Scikit-learn), R, SAS or Matlab.
* Experience with SQL and Data Modeling Languages (DML).
* Experience working effectively with very large and complex datasets.
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong initiative and dedicated work ethic.

Preferred Skills and Experience

* Experience with modern predictive modeling and machine learning techniques such as Neural Networks, Clustering/Segmentation, Network Analysis, etc.
* Experience with web-apps and data visualization using tools such as Shiny, Flask and d3.js
* Experience with natural language processing, linguistics, or semantic analysis of text data.
* Experience with research studies such as path to purchase, segment profiling, and attribution.
* Experience with online panels, surveys, clickstream data, proxy servers, or internet metering.
