Application Architect

Responsible for programming on specific application subsets of the company's application portfolio, participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle, typically for an assigned business unit or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

* Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements, leads requirements gathering meetings and reviews designs with the business.
* Develops and defines application scope and objectives and supervises the preparation of technical and/or functional specifications from with programs will be written.
* Performs technical design reviews and code reviews. Ensures unit test is completed and meets the test plan requirements, system testing is completed and system is implemented according to plan.
* Responsible for delivery of application technology solutions and data information planning effort.
* Coordinates and manages on-call support and owns the system monitoring process.
* Reviews and monitors initiatives for end to end impact and coordination.
* Facilitates in the creation of high-level architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems/platforms.
* Contributes to designs applied to all aspects of business systems, infrastructure prototypes, and eventual implementation.
* Understands all the system components and recommends innovative approaches to meeting business requirements and service level agreements.
* Evaluates, communicates, and documents the architecture patterns, standards, and technologies.
* Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending and initiatives

Qualification:

Requires a BA/BS degree in related field or technical institute training; 5 or more years of experience; multi-platform experience, expert level experience with business and technical applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Incumbent should also have the ability to lead multiple or large projects and provide troubleshooting support. Demonstrated leadership skills in both business and IT context to drive teams to achieve results. Multi-dimensional required. Multi database and/or multi language preferred. At least 5 years analyzing business and technical requirements/data and working with project leadership to formulate architectures and plans for execution At least 5 years researching, composing, delivering and defending technical presentations to audiences of varying size. Proven strategic technology planning, execution and policy development skills Experience coordinating and managing distributed teams of varying size and skill set and working with or as part of an executive team/matrixed organization.

Additional Skills:

Knowledge of the healthcare domain and experience working in healthcare. Ability to influence others within and outside the organization while being open to other people's views through excellent negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems. Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
