Analytics Engineer

Responsibilities

* Design and develop applications in mapreduce, hive, and pig
* Contribute to the design and development of Booyah's big data pipeline
* Build reliable and scalable systems that act in a service capacity for the rest of the company
* Work closely with other parts of the company, including operations and product analysts

Required Skills and Qualifications

* B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of experience in software design and development: Object-Oriented design, JAVA or C++ and the UNIX/LINUX OS
* Strong to Expert level Java programming skills
* 2 years experience with Mapreduce / Hadoop / HDFS
* Experience with one of Pig or Hive
* Strong scripting abilities in one of Shell, Ruby, Python or Perl
* Strong SQL and database skills, either MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle. Vertica a bonus.
* Emphasis on unit testing and test coverage

* Java performance tuning
