WSP is currently initiating a search for an Advanced Mobility Systems Planner with our Transportation Operations Strategy Business Line for our Seattle, WA office to join our Advisory Services division. This division supports public agencies and private firms, primarily in the transportation sector, with the development of omni-modal policies, plans, strategies, requirements, economic and financial analyses, and project development. Advanced Mobility Systems Planner Position

We are recruiting a highly-motivated self-starter with practical experience in transportation planning and policy, specifically focused on advanced mobility options, including connected and automated vehicles, mobility-as-a-service, shared mobility, and related technologies. Joining a dynamic multidisciplinary team, we seek problem solvers who combine strong written and verbal communications skills, demonstrated analytical skills, knowledge of emerging transportation technologies and trends in mobility (such as shared mobility, on-demand services, vehicle electrification, and how transportation technologies will change and accelerate these trends), and the ability to develop innovative solutions independently and master new concepts quickly to deliver high quality work. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to grow in terms of leadership within the team, including supporting client interaction and business development activities.

The successful candidate will be part of a national team focused on delivering solutions to transportation sector clients. Work will mainly consist of expanding our portfolio and service offerings for providing practical solutions and guidance to agencies, providers, and mobility companies centered around advanced mobility and other emerging transportation technologies. The tasks are expected to include business development, project/task management, research and analysis related to industry best practices, new product/service offerings and industry trends, developing policy guidance and implementation plans, and authoring reports and white papers.

The Advanced Mobility Systems Planner position offers great opportunities for professional growth. You will work directly with industry thought leaders to identify and apply evolving requirements and innovative practices to large, highly visible projects across the United States.

The Transportation Operations Strategy team works nationally and the candidate should be available to travel. The preferred home location for this posting is in the Seattle, WA area.

The successful candidate will have the following skills, interests, and experiences:

* Mandatory Bachelor's degree with a major in a transportation or systems technology related field (Planning, Policy, Engineering, Information Technology, etc.).
* A minimum of five years of experience in the transportation industry, with at least two years of experience in the area of emerging mobility/transportation technology.
* Desired evidence of leadership qualities and ability to network with clients and others in the field
* Demonstrated ability to synthesize problems, think creatively, work independently, and deliver high quality work with minimal supervision
* Demonstrated strong analytical skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present analytical results and recommendations
* Ability to travel to client locations to support projects, and
* Ability to work in a team environment.
