We are eagerly seeking a highly motivated and energetic professional as an Embedded Software Engineer to join our RF Modules design group. In this highly visible role you will participate in the innovation of products pertaining to Microwave and Millimeter Wave development programs covering a wide variety of Aerospace & Defense applications.

As part of an energetic design team, you will participate and add value in all phases of product development, actively participating in feasibility, requirement, architecture, design, implementation, integration, and verifications. You will be positioned within a multi-site development team and will be working closely with system, analog, digital, RF, verification, and customer application teams to deliver embedded software as part of RF Modules and Digitizer products.

Responsibilities:

* Design, develop and maintain complex embedded software systems, libraries, optimized algorithms and drivers that leverage state-of-the-art FPGA, SoC and Microprocessor technologies to deliver complete solutions that meet the performance and quality bar of our customers.
* Work closely with our high-speed transceiver groups to develop high-performance RF Converter and Digitizer products for various ruggedized compact embedded systems such as VPX and VME.
* Collaborate with Marketing Group to engage with customers to understand, define and document customer system requirements and work with our partners to further enhance our offerings in system platform solutions.
* Engage with software engineering teams across ADI to help grow software engineering capabilities across the organization by sharing best practices and promoting modern software development techniques.
* Collaborate with the ADI Engineering Enablement team to build out and support the current and future software tool infrastructure, including JIRA, BitBucket, SVN and GIT.
* Participate in internal and external design reviews
* Proposal research, preparation and presentation.



Requirements:

Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science
* Experience developing software in embedded system architectures with real-time operating systems such as Linux and Linux system configurations is highly desirable
* Strong C/C++ programming skills
* Advance knowledge of embedded real-time operating systems with working knowledge of networking, TCP/IP/UDP, RS4-35, RS-232 low-level driver development.
* Hands on experience integrating, building, and testing of multi-thread-based applications
* Knowledge of software development life cycle, software configuration management tools, and software release process
* Customer-facing experience is also desired, as this position may be dealing directly with customers and/or partners
* Strong communication skills as they will be developing requirements and design documents
