1. How the wage gap plays out across the tech industry based on tens of thousands of real job offers made to real people
  2. How the wage gap fluctuates over the course of men and women's careers
  3. How race and LGBTQ status intersect with gender to affect one's compensation
For the second year in a row, Hired has tapped into its data to reveal the state of the tech industry's gender wage gap. Because Hired facilitates the job searching process from the initial interview request all the way to the final job offer, we have unprecedented visibility into men and women's salary expectations, salaries and representation in the interview pool. We're able to see how the wage gap fluctuates over the course of men and women's career, and for the first time ever, how race and LGBTQ status intersect with gender to affect one's compensation.

This second edition of our Women, Work & the State of Wage Inequality report is part of our larger effort to bring more transparency to the hiring process and provide an inside look at the compensation landscape for tech workers. By providing insights about wage inequality in the workplace, we aim to empower companies and candidates alike to close the gap. We encourage companies to use this data and investigate their own compensation policies to ensure that they are not perpetuating patterns of inequality. And for candidates, we want to arm them with the objective information they need to ask for a salary in line with their market value.
