How G-Research and Citi used virtual events to reach specific talent markets

Group 1

In a competitive job market, sourcing the right talent is challenging. This is especially true for companies seeking candidates in particular locations or with niche specializations. G-Research and Citi partnered with Hired Events as a creative solution to find top tech talent in specific markets.

With custom targeting based on their open positions and interest from prequalified candidates, these companies invested in Virtual Candidate Events (VCE) to expedite the hiring process and achieve recruiting goals.

Hired’s team of experts helped execute panel discussions featuring company speakers and offered event, technical, promotional, and marketing support.

G-Research Dives into a New Market

As a leading quantitative finance research firm in Europe, G-Research established itself as a top tech employer in the UK. However, establishing a new office in the US meant the company needed to build its employer brand in a different country. G-Research sought to attract top DevOps EngineersSoftware EngineersEngineering Managers, and Site Reliability Engineers based in Texas — the location of its brand-new office.

With a Virtual Candidate Event, G-Research offered an inside look into life as an engineer at G-Research. Candidates had the opportunity to hear directly from G-Research’s talent acquisition and engineering teams about:

  • Infrastructure as Code/High Integrity
  • Internal SaaS platform management without human admin access
  • Implementing patterns for monitoring
  • Open roles, of course!

Attendees left enlightened about G-Research’s work and excited about the opportunity to join it. When asked, 100% opted in to learn more about life at G-Research. Impressed by the results, G-Research was able to both reach and engage candidates in a new market to build a team distributed across continents!

We have already [12hrs post event] had messages coming through from candidates we were previously struggling to engage.

Citi strives to bring candidates from the classroom to the boardroom

Citi’s University Programmes are designed to offer students maximum exposure to their technology while offering opportunities to build skills, knowledge, and a professional network. As a growth-oriented employer, Citi used these programmes to help students play a valuable role on their tech team and even establish long-term careers at the company. In partnership with Hired, Citi aimed to target qualifying STEM students and recent graduates in London, Belfast, and Dublin.

The virtual panel with Citi’s tech team who experienced the programmes themselves offered a platform for sharing unique insights into operations, tech stack, culture, and opportunities across Citi’s different technical teams.

Hired and Citi successfully engaged attendees, with nearly 100% opting in to learn more about life at the company. Impressed by the results from the VCE and the engagement from a niche candidate audience, Citi looked forward to hosting a future event for its next cohort!

“These events were something new to the Citi team and so far we’re delighted with the results and are looking forward to hosting the events again for our 2023 graduate intake.”
