They’re sometimes described as the bridge between problems and answers. In order to come up with an efficient solution, Business Analysts must first completely understand the current procedures and processes in place within the organization. Some business analysts may use modeling tools to document the current organization state as well as the proffered solution.

Business Analysts may work alone or alongside a team of skilled professionals like project managers and application developers. Other duties may include using IT resources to develop new solutions, training staff members and reporting to senior management. Business Analysts must have good analytic and documentation skills. While opportunities are available in almost every industry, most employers prefer to work with analysts who already have good knowledge about the target industry.
