A Solutions Architect meets with the client and gathers requirements in order to create a specific software solution. Often the solution is expected to fit into the broader enterprise architecture. A Solutions Architect is commonly the development team leader should be prepared to motivate and guide the team throughout the project. Solutions Architects are routinely asked to have a bachelor’s degree in an information systems field and at least two years of field experience. They should also be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, project management skills and organizational skills. Since they will be working both with the client and the internal team members, candidates should have strong people management skills as well as strong communication skills in both verbal and written form.
